On July 1st, our institute held a mid year work conference in 2025 to further consolidate the consensus and strength of the unity and struggle in journal construction, summarize the progress of work in the first half of the year, and deploy the key points of work in the second half of the year. The meeting was chaired by Dean Dai Bin and attended by all staff members.

Dean Dai Bin gave a special speech on the topic of "Promoting the High quality Development of Tourism Theory with High level Journals", systematically explaining the three core issues of why to build a journal matrix, what kind of journal matrix to build, and how to build a journal matrix. Dean Dai emphasized in his speech that our institute has established a complete scientific research system covering theoretical research, data production, and policy consultation. We have journals, annual reports, internal journals, internal references, and new media communication matrices, and the opportunity and conditions are ripe to promote the high-quality development of the journal matrix. The journal matrix of the research institute should have reference value for the tourism decision-making of the Party and the country, guide the development of local tourism, support the development of the industry, and provide reference for international tourism exchanges. The journal matrix of the research institute must be the main battlefield for the construction of national tourism development theory and the telling of China's tourism story to the outside world. Focusing on the "15th Five Year Plan" and longer-term sustainable development, we must be grounded in reality, clarify the direction of publication, build a stable group of special authors, and serve the main readership. To have the ideals and emotions of politicians running journals, and the qualities and abilities of theorists running journals. We need to accelerate the establishment of our own professional team and backbone, establish a stable group of authors, and expand our readership. Require all cadres and staff to take the "Journal Construction Year" as an opportunity to strive to create a new highland for tourism theory and academic research.

Vice President Ma Yiliang made a summary report on the work of the first half of the year on behalf of the hospital team. In the first half of the year, more than half of the basic implementation time and more than half of the tasks were completed. The quality and efficiency of Party building work have been improved, major breakthroughs have been made in the construction of high-end think tanks, effective results have been achieved in the construction of scientific research organizations and cadres, and progress has been made in the standardization and normalization of data systems for various projects during the 15th Five Year Plan period. In conjunction with the national diplomatic strategy, international exchanges and cooperation have been deepened and implemented, academic promotion work has been actively and effectively carried out, and various administrative work has been promoted with high quality.

Vice President Tang Xiaoyun represented the hospital team to make arrangements for the work plan for the second half of the year. In the second half of the year, the research institute will continue to deepen its study and implementation of the spirit of the Central Eight point Regulation, lead its business with Party building, steadily promote the construction of high-end think tanks, high-quality publications such as "Tourism Review", strengthen scientific research organization, improve the quality and level of scientific research achievements, enhance data system innovation construction, expand academic exchanges and international influence, strengthen academic promotion and social services, enhance team building and high-level talent cultivation, consolidate and improve administrative management and service capabilities, do a good job in personnel, property and other expansion guarantees, and implement various tasks assigned by the Party group of the Ministry.

All staff members and postdoctoral fellows of our hospital attended the conference. After the meeting, various departments further strengthened their ideological understanding around the spirit of the meeting and work deployment, stimulated their efforts, improved the work plan for the second half of the year, and completed the annual work goals and tasks with high quality.
